It is rare that a film will leave me completely speechless when the credits roll. It is rare but it is not unheard of that a film leaves such an impression on me that I cannot think of anything else for days, La Bola Negra did just this.

I can confidently say this is my favourite of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies, the films first 45 minutes were an absolute delight. I was beaming from ear to ear at the soundtrack, the swinging sequences and seeing Holland back in a role I believe he was born to play. Spider-Man Brand New Day hits the ground running, the film catapults you into crime fighting sequences, slow motion web-slinging and Peter Parker embracing his new found anonymity.

The Odyssey is a work of fiction and yet Nolan is able to breathe new life into it. This story is not new, in fact it is almost 3000 years old and yet, it is rejuvenated for modern audiences which modern language and intelligent non-linear storytelling.

I did not expect The Invite to be one of my favourite films of 2026, so far but it truly is. This film surprised me, it moved me, it excited me and it made me laugh.

This film and its looming twist will undoubtedly divide audiences. This is not a faithful adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel, quite the opposite this is a brash, outlandish, larger than life explosion of desire and romance. If you’re looking for an adaption of your favourite book, this will not impress you, leave your expectations at the door and allow yourself to dive into this fictional world of yearning. Also yes, it is very raunchy.
