#86 | Blades of Glory

A slapstick comedy staring Will Ferrell (Step Brothers), Jon Hader (Napoleon Dynamite), Will Arnett (Arrested Development), Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and many more stars. Blades of Glory (2007) is decked out with the best actors, the best writing and a brilliantly hilarious plot. If you're a fan of slapstick humour and over the top characters, this film is definitely for you. Blades of Glory falls into the same category as Dodgeball, Step Brothers, Anchorman, Superbad- all of which are favourites of mine. If you like comedies which are overtly silly and are just simply trying to make you laugh, Blades of Glory ticks those boxes.

The story takes place as two rival Olympics ice skaters Chazz Michael-Michaels and Jimmy MacElroy are being stripped of their medals and banned from single-mens skating events, forever. They soon discover a loophole which states the duo can team up and compete as an all-male pair, the first ever. One problem though, they hate each other. Ferrell and Hader are a perfect comedy duo, they have such immense chemistry on screen and deliver joke after joke consistently. I never get tired of watching Blades of Glory, it never fails to make me laugh.
