#94 | Avengers: Endgame

I feel as though at least one of the Avengers movies belongs on everyones top 100 list, for me, it was always going to be Endgame. Every film, every moment, every second spent sitting in front of the television led up to this moment. It was truly a monumental memory going to the cinema to see Endgame on the big screen, I will never forget it.

For anyone who needs a story recap, here you go: After Thanos, an intergalactic warlord, uses the all powerful infinity stones to disintegrates half of the universe, the Avengers must reunite and assemble again to reinvigorate their lost allies and restore balance in the universe. The Avengers lost... let that sink in, they lost! Endgame shows the aftermath of the snap and brings the story back down the earth, sometimes the villain wins. I love watching Endgame because it's dark and enigmatic. Of course we believe the Avengers can win, we hope they can restore the peace but can they? Endgame introduces the idea that the heroes might not win and I love that. Turning the whole cinematic universe on its head and making the audience doubt.

Thanos is undoubtedly one of the greatest cinematic villains in the MCU, his presence in this feature is bone chilling and I adore every moment he is on screen. Thanos makes the Avengers movies for me, he drives the power and he drives the narrative, in my eyes no villain will come close to Thanos - he actually succeeded! What a character. Of course, I cannot go unsaid that Endgame features one of the most powerful 'Avengers Assemble' moments, ever. It still gives me chills across my whole body, they absolutely nailed this film in every way possible and I am beyond honoured to place it on my top 100 list.

Overall, as I said at the beginning of my post, there is no doubt in my mind that at least one MCU movie makes an appearance on most peoples top 100 lists, the MCU has dominated... almost saturated the cinematic market. Marvel movies are unstoppable and often thoroughly enjoyable, this movie marks an end to the real heroes and that is why I include it on my list- to show love for all that came before it.
