100K. Wow.
This is a short article to say thank you.
Film Probe has been a primary focus within my life since 2017, I created Film Probe as an escape during a time in my life when I was experiencing a lot of change. I felt lonely and I felt a little lost, honestly I still do but in 2017 I was free to challenge myself and free to learn more about cinema in an organic, innocent way.
In 2017, instagram did not function the way it does now and honestly for many years I felt like the only film account created by a woman. I was slightly nervous to reveal my gender because the film industry is so male dominated and I thought it could hinder my growth as a reviewer and writer. So, I kept my identity anonymous until the end of last year. So, for seven years I was a faceless account, sharing my thoughts and slowly finding my personal voice through my writing and my design.
Film Probe has grown into something so beautiful and I am immensely proud of it, I pour my heart and soul into my posts. Each one is special to me and important to me in one way or another, whether i’ve tried to share my honest, authentic thoughts on a feature or i’ve tried to create something meaningful and fun for you to identify with and enjoy. Film Probe is my safe place to share my love of cinema with all of you and now I feel like my journey is truly beginning.
I hope Film Probe continues to grow and continues to thrive, I hope you can turn to Film Probe for truth worthy, cohesive and thought provoking film reviews. I hope you can rely on Film Probe to recommend you the perfect watch and more than anything, I hope I can inspire you to fall in love with cinema.
Cinema is my life, it is the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing when I go to bed. My brain is filled with stories, filled with appreciation for the medium and in awe of the creations we get to watch on screen.
Cinema is an endless media, there are millions of films to discover every day and I find that so profoundly comforting. When it comes to cinema, the world is your oyster, there is never a time when you have nothing new to watch. I love cinema and I simply cannot thank you enough for supporting film probe in whatever way you have.
