Marvel's M.O.D.O.K (2021)

If you poured Rick & Morty, Robot Chicken and Family Guy into a blender the concoction you’d be left with is Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K! This stop start animation is a middle ground between adult humour and marvel magic, combining crude language with the likes of iron man and other superheroes is simply genius and made for the specific enjoyment of adults.

M.O.D.O.K is voiced by the iconic Patton Oswalt, this series follows the villains story; While pursuing his dream of conquering the world, a megalomaniacal supervillain runs his evil organization into the ground. With an all star cast this series had no chance of failing, all the voices are brilliantly cast yet not distracting from the visuals. I throughly enjoyed this series even though I’m not necessarily a fan of the robot chicken style of animation.

Thank goodness Disney plus has broadened its horizons and allowed shows like this to be made and distributed on Disney Star. I think if marvel studios continue to green light shows of this style and comedy it’ll be a brilliant few years of content. M.O.D.O.K was originally an iron man super villain but in this series they make him a relatable family man who still wants to destroy the world, it’s a brilliant mix of meta commentary, the show is fully aware of how stupid it is, whilst still having a steady narrative that keeps your intrigued each episode. This is fun and full of laughs, give it a go if you enjoy wacky sci-fi series and a lot of stupidity.
