Former CIA spies Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx) are pulled back into espionage after their secret identities are exposed.
Diaz and Foxx do action well, the pair genuinely had chemistry but this is one of the only take aways from this film. Back in Action (2025) uses the same predictable storyline every basic action/comedy does, attempting at comedy in the most childish way and added zero intelligence or nuance to the narrative.
This film proves that with a decent budget and all-star cast you can still produce a forgettable, uneventful feature. Back in Action (2025) succeeded at one thing, reminding us how incredible Cameron Diaz. Sure, this wasn’t the perfect come back but regardless; she is an action star I need to see more of.
