As someone who has never played a Fallout game, I was apprehensive to watch this series in fear of being confused but after the first episode finished I was completely hooked. Fallout is a dynamic, unique and categorically entertaining series from beginning to end. The story is based in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation, citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits.
Ella Purnell shines in the role of Lucy, she brings an innocence to the role and guides the audience through her journey. Alongside Aaron Moten as Maximus and the incomparable Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, both supporting characters were unforgettably charming and brought a unique quality to each episode. I was fully immersed into the universe of Fallout and quickly became enthralled in the plot and all of the incredibly fascinating details.
Fallout is full of humour, action and mystery, as the series progresses we dive deeper into the ongoing questions and learn with Lucy when she encounters new characters. Fallout is a series made for the fans but it is also a series made for creating new fans, Fallout doesn’t exclude new viewers but it still included plenty of easter eggs and references for fans of the games.
Fallout is an immaculate produced and executed series with a well thought out plot and an unthinkable about of detail. Fallout is a series you can truly sink your teeth into, with clever dialogue, impressive set design, costume and not to mention the beautifully constructed soundtrack. Between Fallout and The Last of Us, we are being truly spoiled with game-adaptations dominating television.
