The Book of Mormon | REVIEW | Musical Theatre

The Book of Mormon has grossed over $700 million, making it one of the most successful musicals of all time. As of December, 2022, it is the 13th longest-running Broadway show. Since its release, The Book of Mormon has gained an overwhelming amount of positive critical responses and has since set records in ticket sales. The Book of Mormon was awarded nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.

The Book of Mormon is undoubtedly the most irreverent and obscene musical of all time whilst also being one of the most original, genuinely heartwarming and unapologetically hilarious shows I have ever seen. For those who aren’t afraid to laugh when it may be uncomfortable, this musical is made for audiences who are open to all forms of comedy and satire.

The Book of Mormon makes fun, it parodies, it’s offensive and it’s blasphemous but there is no doubt that it is highly enjoyable and truly one of the greatest, catchiest and most memorable pieces of theatre on stage today. I cannot recommend this musical enough, it is engrained in my memory and brings a smile to my face every time I hear a piece of music or remember a scene- not to mention it was created by the genius minds behind South Park, which should tell you all you need to know. No stone is left unturned and nobody is safe from scrutiny when it comes to Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
